What Is Executive Functioning?

Executive functioning is a set of mental skills—like planning, organizing, managing time, and regulating emotions—that help us get things done. For kids with ADHD or related challenges, these skills often develop differently, making school, social situations, and daily routines harder than they should be.

These kids aren’t lazy or defiant—they need support that meets how their brains actually work.

How We Help

We support kids who:

  • Struggle to start or finish tasks

  • Get overwhelmed by transitions or directions

  • Have emotional outbursts or shutdowns

  • Lose track of time or materials

  • Seem scattered, impulsive, or disorganized

We also work closely with caregivers to build structure, routines, and consistency at home and school that align with each child’s unique needs.

Our occupational therapists take a practical, strengths-based approach to helping children develop executive functioning and self-regulation. Therapy is tailored, playful, and focused on giving kids and families tools they can use every day.

Outcomes Families See

With consistent therapy and support, kids become more independent, less reactive, and better able to handle the demands of daily life. Parents often say, “I finally understand how to support them without battles.”

Let’s build the skills your child needs to succeed—with compassion, structure, and support that works.
