Sensory Processing Challenges
Whether the world feels too loud and overwhelming—or your child is constantly on the move and crashing into everything—sensory processing challenges can make daily life exhausting. We’re here to help your child feel safe, regulated, and confident.
What Are Sensory Processing Challenges?
Sensory processing difficulties occur when a child’s brain has trouble organizing and responding to information from their senses—sound, touch, movement, or even internal signals like hunger or pain. Some kids seem “over-sensitive,” others under-responsive, and many bounce between the two.
This can impact behavior, mood, learning, and social interactions—and often leaves parents feeling confused and frustrated.
How We Help
At The Therapy Collaborative, our occupational therapists use evidence-based, sensory-informed strategies to help children regulate their nervous systems and feel more at ease in their environments.
We help children who:
Melt down during transitions or loud spaces
Avoid certain textures, clothing, or activities
Seek constant movement or stimulation
Struggle with attention or body awareness
Seem “off” or overwhelmed but can’t explain why
Our therapy spaces are designed to be safe, engaging, and customized to each child’s needs. We work closely with families to create tools and routines that carry over into daily life.
Outcomes Families See
With consistent therapy and support, children become more regulated, flexible, and confident. Parents report fewer meltdowns, smoother routines, and a deeper understanding of how to help their child thrive.
